How to Properly Maintain & Clean Fabric Awnings:

    All screws MUST be secured to wall. If it moves, it needs tightening. If fabric is water-logged, it should be replaced to reduce weight on screw anchors. After a major storm, all frames should be inspected for any issues. Metal awnings are heavier, so they should be checked regularly for debris such as leaves, bird droppings, standing water, branches or bent metal.


Awnings Should be Cleaned Yearly 

If dirt, roof particles, etc...  accumulate and become embedded in the fabric:

 Simply wipe off any loose dirt and particles with a very soft brush, then hose down and clean with a mild solution of natural soap in lukewarm water. (no more than 100 degrees F.)  Rinse thoroughly to remove excess soap.  If you choose to maintain your own awnings, we suggest superior products sold at your local marine store specifically for tough mildew stains on canvas sold as concentrates. 

Re -coating by an awning professional is suggested once per year will also extend the life of the awning beyond the warranty as well.
